The Town of Kent is located 60 miles from NYC. Interstate 84 and the Taconic State Parkway run through the town. What today is the intersection of Interstate 84 and Ludingtonville Road was in 1777, the home of Col. Henry Ludington and his daughter Sybil. It is said that during the Revolutionary War, Sybil rode 40 miles to alert her father’s militia that the British were burning down Danbery Ct, 25 miles away.
