Brooklyn (Kings County) is the most populous of the 5 boroughs. Brooklyn occupies a land area of only 69.5 square miles, yet annually issues approximately 300,000 tickets, 28,000 of them for speeding. The vast majority of Brooklyn speeding tickets and traffic tickets will be returnable to one of the Brooklyn TVB’s. Criminal traffic offenses such as driving with a suspended license or DWI will be returnable to the criminal court. In addition, trucking tickets will at times be returnable to the criminal court as well.
The Brooklyn Traffic Violation Bureau is a very difficult court to navigate as plea bargaining is not permitted.
