Queens Moving Violations
While most moving violations issued in the borough of Queens are for speeding, the city police issue a large number of tickets for other moving violations including cell phone tickets, passing a red light, passing a stop sign and disobey traffic control device. Almost all moving violations issued in the Queens are returnable to the Queens TVB. The exception is for moving violations issued along with criminal charges such as driving with a suspended license or DWI. In that case, the moving violation ticket will be sent to the criminal court along with the criminal charge.
The Queens TVB is a difficult venue to resolve a traffic ticket. The Queens TVB, just as the other traffic violation Bureau’s located throughout the city, does not permit negotiated settlements, leaving the motorist with no alternative than to plead guilty and accept the points, or mark the case for trial. The best chance to obtain a favorable resolution is to be represented by a Queens traffic lawyer.
